Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking enthusiastic Band 5 Registered Nurses to join our friendly and supportive Neonatal Unit. Our Level 2 Local Neonatal Unit provides care for premature and sick newborn babies working closely with families to deliver safe, evidence-based, family-centred care.

Main duties of the job

As a Band 5 Neonatal Staff Nurse, you will:

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for babies requiring neonatal care.

Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to newborn infants and their families.

Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide safe and effective care.

Support and educate parents, enabling them to develop confidence in caring for their baby.

Participate in admissions, transfers and discharge planning.

Administer medications safely in accordance with Trust policies.

Maintain accurate clinical documentation and communicate effectively within the team.

Contribute to maintaining a safe clinical environment and high standards of patient care.

Willingness to develop neonatal knowledge and skills.

Flexible approach to shift working, including weekends, nights and bank holidays.

Put the patient first.

Work together to provide the best quality care.

Focus on individual and diverse needs.

  • RGN with neonatal or critical care experience,
  • RN Child,
  • Evidence of ongoing professional education

Desirable

  • Teaching and Assessing qualification,
  • Willingness to undertake the Neonatal Qualification Post Registration Course.
  • Willingness to undertake the Examination of the Newborn Course.
