Accountant

RECfinancial are looking to recruit an experienced Accountant for an interim period of 3 months, joining a small, high-performing team and working for a Government organisation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership, and can keep a busy finance function running smoothly while supporting wider organisational operations. The Role: Youll take the lead on day-to-day financial management, reporting and planning, while also supporting governance activity and corporate performance work. The role covers everything from budgeting and month-end processes to audit preparation and financial returns. Key Responsibilities: Produce financial reports, projections and management information Support budgeting and medium-term financial planning Maintain financial policies, procedures and compliance Administer Audit & Risk meetings, including agendas and minutes Process financial transactions, returns, invoices and expenses Complete month-end and bank reconciliations Prepare documentation for internal and external audits Support records management and corporate performance reporting Provide financial insight to assist decision-making About You: Youll be a confident finance professional who can work independently, manage competing priorities and build strong working relationships across a small organisation. Essential Experience & Skills: ACCA/CIMA Qualified, nearly qualified or equivalent Strong understanding of budgets, data protection and corporate management processes Solid financial stewardship and month-end experience Excellent written, numerical and digital communication skills Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively Strong organisational and time-management skills Whats Offered Temporary contract (up to 3 months) Remote working (visit London office twice a month) Flexible working practices, 36 hour working week Civil Service pension scheme enrolment Supportive, values-driven environment INDSH TPBN1_UKTJ
