Role Purpose Procter and Street is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Accounts/Administrative Assistant to join our client’s finance team. This role will support the day-to-day finance operations, ensuring accurate processing of financial transactions, reconciliations, payroll administration, and general accounting duties. The successful candidate will become part of a dedicated and experienced team and play a key role in maintaining the smooth running of the finance function. Key Responsibilities Banking & Reconciliations * Manage daily banking activity, including Sage 200 bank reconciliations, bank payments, petty cash, credit card reconciliations, and month-end statement checks. Purchase Ledger & Sales Ledger * Process supplier invoices, resolve invoice queries, support recoveries payments, maintain sales ledger records, and assist with monthly payment runs. Payroll & Administration * Assist with weekly payroll, maintain holiday calendars, complete ad hoc administration, and support the wider finance team. Systems & Financial Processing * Use Sage 200 and internal processes to maintain accurate financial records and ensure data is entered correctly. Communication & Stakeholder Support * Build strong working relationships with operational sites and internal teams, responding professionally to finance-related queries. * Communicate clearly across the business and provide excellent service to internal and external stakeholders. Person Specification Essential Experience * Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Accounts Administrator, or similar finance role. * Experience across purchase ledger, sales ledger, bank reconciliations, and high-volume financial transaction processing. * Working knowledge of Sage 200 or similar accounting software, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications. Essential Skills * Strong attention to detail, accuracy, numerical ability, and analytical skills. * Excellent organisation, time management, prioritisation, and ability to meet deadlines. * Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
