The role is commutable from locations such as Cambridge, Ely, Huntingdon, St Ives, Newmarket, Bury St Edmunds, Thetford, and Peterborough. The firm are looking to hire a Senior Tax Professional but will consider Semi-Senior level applicants. The salary is negotiable and will of course depend on experience and qualification level and is open within reason.
The successful candidate will need to be confident, independent, and self-sufficient, with the ability to manage their own workload, communicate directly with clients and progress personal tax compliance matters with minimal day-to-day supervision. Responsibilities:
Manage and deliver tax compliance work, ensuring all statutory and client deadlines are met.
Work closely with Partners and senior colleagues on a range of private client and advisory tax matters.
Provide support and advice on Capital Gains Tax (CGT), including disposals of UK property and other assets.
Prepare and review UK property CGT returns, ensuring accurate and timely submission.
Assist with Inheritance Tax (IHT) planning, compliance, and advisory matters.
Deal with trust taxation, including Trust Registration Service (TRS) requirements. Inheritance Tax matters relating to trusts. General trust compliance and advisory work.
Undertake Statutory Residence Test (SRT) reviews and advise on the UK tax position of individuals with complex residence or domicile considerations.
Prepare and review tax returns for non-UK resident individuals.
Liaise directly with clients, building strong relationships and explaining complex tax matters in a clear and practical manner.
Work collaboratively with colleagues across the practice while also managing individual workloads and responsibilities independently.
Keep up to date with changes in tax legislation and ensure advice and compliance work reflects current requirements. xkybehq
Take ownership of work, prioritising effectively and delivering high-quality work within agreed timescales.
Develop knowledge and experience across a broader range of private client tax matters, with opportunities to build specialist expertise in areas such as trusts and Inheritance Tax. Benefits:
