We are currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join a growing accountancy practice. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their accounting career and gain hands-on experience across bookkeeping, VAT, payroll, and accounts preparation. The successful candidate will work closely with senior accountants and clients, supporting the day-to-day accounting function while continuing to build their technical knowledge. Key Responsibilities: * Preparing bookkeeping records for a range of clients * Assisting with VAT returns * Processing invoices, receipts, and payments * Bank reconciliations * Supporting payroll processing * Assisting with the preparation of year-end accounts * Using accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or Excel * Liaising with clients to request information and resolve queries * Supporting senior team members with ad hoc accounting tasks Requirements: * Previous experience in an accounting or finance role is beneficial * AAT studier, graduate, or someone with practical accounting training will be considered * Good understanding of bookkeeping and basic accounting principles * Confident using Excel * Knowledge of Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks would be an advantage * Strong attention to detail * Good communication skills * Willingness to learn and develop within accountancy What’s on Offer: * Full training and support * Opportunity to work with experienced accountants * Exposure to real client accounts * Career progression within the firm * Study support may be available for the right candidate * Friendly and professional working environment How to Apply: Please apply with your CV, and a member of our recruitment team will be in touch to discuss the role in more detail
