We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing group of businesses looking for a Finance Assistant to join their friendly finance team in Cockermouth. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative environment where you'll gain exposure to multiple businesses, develop your finance skills and play an important role in supporting day-to-day financial operations.
Whether you're AAT Level 3 qualified or working towards your Level 4, this role offers plenty of opportunity to build on your experience while working alongside an experienced finance team.

About the role As Finance Assistant, you'll support the wider finance function with a broad range of responsibilities across sales ledger, credit control, reconciliations and month-end activities. This is a varied role where accuracy, organisation and communication are key. Your responsibilities will include: Raising customer invoices and credit notes
Managing the sales ledger and supporting credit control activities
Reconciling customer and balance sheet accounts
Assisting with month-end processes and management accounts
Processing employee expenses
Supporting intercompany transactions and reconciliations
Maintaining accurate financial records using Sage Intacct
Producing finance reports and supporting audit requirements
Assisting with continuous improvement projects across the finance function
About you We're looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a team and takes pride in producing accurate work. You'll ideally have: AAT Level 3 qualification, with Level 4 preferred
Previous experience in a finance or accounts role
Experience of sales ledger and credit control
Strong reconciliation skills and excellent attention to detail
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel
Excellent communication and organisational skills
A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and support colleagues
