Housekeeper / Receptionist/Admin (Band 2)

New Endoscopy Unit - Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Due to current Home Office Guidelines, Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is unable to provide sponsorship for this role.

We are seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our brand-new Endoscopy Unit in a hybrid Housekeeper / Reception role.

Following the recent expansion of our Endoscopy service from 6 to 8 procedure rooms, we are looking for a team member to support the increased activity and help ensure the unit runs efficiently while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

This is a varied and rewarding role where you will contribute to both the operational flow and patient experience within a modern, expanding clinical environment.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Is organised, dependable, and able to prioritise tasks
  • Has basic IT skills and attention to detail
  • Can work both independently and as part of a team
  • Takes pride in creating a safe, clean, and patient-focused environment

Experience within healthcare, administration, or a customer-facing role would be desirable but not essential.

Main duties of the job

  • Providing a professional front-of-house reception service, welcoming patients and managing enquiries
  • Supporting administrative processes including data entry, filing, and coordination of appointments
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation across the unit
  • Ensuring stock levels are maintained and supplies replenished
  • Supporting infection prevention and control standards
  • Assisting with patient flow, including admission and discharge processes
  • Working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team

Experience

Essential

  • Working experience/knowledge of computers, data input and word processing
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
  • Experience of working face to face and/or telephone contact with the general public

Desirable

  • Previous NHS experience
  • Minimum two years Office/Administration experience

Skills

Essential

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional telephone manner Customer care skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative whilst under pressure, including working to tight deadlines and prioritising work effectively, flexible attitude
  • Attention to detail,

Knowledge

Essential

  • Understanding of Information Governance and Confidentiality
