AI Platform Engineer - Cambridge £55,000 - £65,000 DOE | Hybrid | Permanent We're a growing technology company based in Cambridge, building AI-powered products and internal tooling. We're looking for an AI Platform Engineer to help design, build, and scale the infrastructure and systems that power our AI/LLM-driven applications. The Role: Design and build scalable back-end services and APIs to support AI/LLM-powered features Develop and maintain infrastructure for deploying, monitoring, and scaling AI models in production Integrate cloud and/or locally hosted LLMs (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI, open-source models) into live products Build RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, and prompt/conversation systems Collaborate with data, product, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions Implement CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and observability for AI-driven services Own the full lifecycle: experimentation, prototyping, and production deployment What We're Looking For: Strong commercial experience with Python and/or Java, plus cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) Hands-on experience with LLM-based application development (RAG, agents, copilots) Familiarity with vector databases, embeddings, and prompt engineering Experience with containerisation and orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes) a plus Strong understanding of scalable, production-grade system design Comfortable working across experimentation and live deployment environments What's on Offer: Competitive salary + benefits package Hybrid working model Opportunity to shape AI strategy and architecture from the ground up Collaborative, innovation-focused culture
