Our maternity service has earned and managed to maintain a 'Outstanding' rating from the CQC! We are looking for a dynamic midwife like you to join our team. Working closely with the matron as ward manager looking after the Antenatal and Postnatal ward.

Main duties of the job
- To provide high quality, effective midwifery care that is evidence based and womancentred during the postnatal period.
- To manage a team of midwives whilst working closely with other multidisciplinarycolleagues to ensure safety outcomes and positive patient experiences are achieved.
- The post holder is also expected to be an expert clinical midwife who will give advice and guidance on the midwifery care of women and pregnant people, babies and their families.
- The post holder will provide clinical and managerial leadership for the team on Aleck Bourne 2 Ward.
- To lead and coordinate the day to day running of including multidisciplinary ward rounds.
- To work collaboratively with the Matrons to provide and develop high quality, safe andeffective service.

Education / Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Midwife
- BSc in Midwifery
- NIPE/ EON trained
- Mentorship qualification
- Evidence of professional development
Desirable
- Master degree or working towards
- Quality Improvement qualification
- FSRH letter of competency for contraceptive implant insertion
Experience
Essential
- Demonstrable clinical experience in all areas of Midwifery
- Experience with DATIX incident reporting systems
- Experience with Conflict Resolution and Complaints management
- Excellent working knowledge of Safeguarding policy and processes
Desirable
- Experience of managing a team
- Evidence of initiating and implementing change process
- Experience of conducting appraisals
Skills/knowledge/ abilities
Essential
- Up to date and evidence-based knowledge of current clinical and professional issues
- Ability to demonstrate the required expertise associated with a senior midwife role including, advanced clinical skills
- Good level of skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Desirable
- Able to teach and assess in the clinical area
- Use of Quality improvement methodologies
- Change management skills
