The R&D Application Engineer will be responsible for developing, integrating, and maintaining technical solutions that optimise business workflows. The successful candidate will possess a strong foundational understanding of data structures and systems integration, utilising scripting and automation to bridge gaps between various enterprise platforms. This role requires a blend of software development logic and a strategic approach to business process management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Systems Integration: Design and maintain automated data flows between enterprise SaaS platforms and project management environments.
- Process Automation: Develop custom scripts to automate repetitive business functions, ensuring high data integrity and operational efficiency.
- API Management: Architect and troubleshoot RESTful API connections (utilising GET, POST, PATCH, and DELETE methods) to facilitate seamless communication between disparate systems.
- Data Architecture & Reporting: Build and manage complex data models, utilising advanced formulas and logic to drive real-time executive dashboards and reporting.
- Solution Design: Collaborate with stakeholders to translate operational pain points into scalable technical requirements and automated workflows.
- Emerging Technologies: Explore and implement modern automation trends, including Generative AI and Agentic workflows, to enhance PMO capabilities.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Data Management Logic: Advanced command of spreadsheet logic and relational data concepts (e.g., complex nested formulas, data normalisation, and cross-platform data mapping).
- Integration Expertise: Proven experience working with RESTful APIs and JSON data structures. Familiarity with technical debugging tools (e.g., Postman) is preferred.
- Platform Familiarity: Professional experience with enterprise Project Management tools (such as Smart sheet, Jira, or Asana) and Construction Management platforms (such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, or Plangrid).
- Cloud Infrastructure: Basic understanding of cloud-based environments (e.g., Google Cloud Platform) for the deployment and management of automation scripts.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in developing AI-assisted automatons or utilising Large Language Models (LLMs) via API.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (e.g., Google Cloud Platform) for the deployment of automation scripts.
- Familiarity with low-code/no-code integration middle ware (e.g., Zapier, Workato, or MuleSoft).
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or similar process improvement methodologies.
- Professional certifications in Project Management or specific Collaborative Work Management platforms.
