The Role
This position would suit an Architect who enjoys both the creative and technical sides of practice and is confident taking projects from early concept through to completion. Working closely with a collaborative team, the successful candidate will take ownership of projects, lead client and consultant coordination, and play an active role in shaping the future direction of the studio. Alongside project delivery, there will be opportunities to contribute to research, innovation initiatives, design guidance and wider industry engagement. It is a role that offers real variety, responsibility and the chance to make a visible contribution within a growing practice.
The interview process for this role consists of three stages: an initial informal 15-minute online meeting, followed by an in-person interview, and then a final half-day studio-based task.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead projects through a range of RIBA Work Stages, from concept design through to delivery
- Develop design proposals, planning applications and presentation material
- Prepare Design & Access Statements and supporting planning documentation
- Coordinate consultant teams, including structural, MEP and specialist disciplines
- Oversee technical design packages and construction-stage delivery
- Carry out site visits and contract administration duties where required
- Support the development of sustainable and low-carbon design solutions
- Contribute to bids, competitions and business development activities
- Assist with research, practice standards and design guidance documentation
- Represent the practice at industry events, exhibitions and collaborative initiatives
Key Requirements
- ARB Registered Architect
- Strong experience across all RIBA Work Stages
- Proven ability to lead projects from inception through to completion
- Excellent technical and construction knowledge
- Confident managing clients, consultants and project teams
- Experience within residential, mixed-use or masterplanning projects would be beneficial
- Strong proficiency in Revit or ArchiCAD
- Good working knowledge of Adobe xwzovoh Creative Suite
