Basildon | Assembler Salary💷 £16.49 per hour We are looking for a Assembler to work in a busy manufacturing environment at our Basildon site Working Hours * Monday – Thursday: 7.30am – 16.00pm * Friday: 7.30am – 12.30pm Benefits: * Competitive pay * Overtime available * Pension * 25 Days Annual Holiday plus 8 statutory days. Christmas shutdown * Long Service awards * Death in Service Purpose of role and key accountabilities: To carry out assembly of aircraft components to customer defined specification and standard. Core skills/attributes needed: * Ability to work on assembly of new parts with solid rivets using hand & air riveting tools & other equipment for the purpose required. * Visual inspection of completed products * Full knowledge and experience of using Vernier’s and other specialist measuring tools • Experience of working to adjust sheet metal parts for assembly * Current experience of the use of air tools i.e. drills / rivet press / rivet guns * Experience of using sealants * Engineering background ideally in aerospace industry * Experience of reading, interpreting engineering drawings and specifications * Experience of working with a number of different materials and finishes * Attention to detail * Problem solving skills * Utilising a range of hand tools * Finish precision engineering products The employee must also strive to support the elements of the SQCDP framework of the wider Gardner business; * Safety: work in line with all accredited company safety standards to provide a safe working environment for all * Quality: support the quality accreditations across the business to ensure delivery of a ‘right first time’ performance * Cost: support the continuous improvements in cost reduction activities across the company to deliver increased profitability and value for money to our customers and stakeholders * Delivery: drive improvement in delivery performance to continually exceed customer expectations and targets * People: support organizational capability and influence cultural change by embracing diversity, inclusion, wellbeing and community NOTE: Due to the nature of this role and the security requirements linked to projects with the UK Ministry of Defence, applicants must be eligible for UK Security Clearance
