LOCATION: Hybrid / Ealing, West London with regular travel (approximately 90% field based)

JOB OVERVIEW
The organisation is looking for an Asset Surveyor to join its Assets team, supporting the accurate collection and analysis of property data across a varied housing portfolio.
Working in a highly field-based role, you will carry out detailed stock condition surveys, identify hazards through HHSRS assessments and support the production of Energy Performance Certificates. Your work will help shape investment decisions, energy improvement strategies and the continued delivery of safe, well-maintained homes.
The role requires strong technical knowledge of building systems, surveying methodologies, Decent Homes legislation and property-related compliance, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to work positively with customers, colleagues and stakeholders.
DUTIES
Your duties as the Asset Surveyor include:
Stock Condition Surveys: Conduct comprehensive surveys to assess component age, physical condition and remaining life
HHSRS Assessments: Identify and evaluate potential hazards, ensuring properties meet safety and regulatory standards
Energy Performance Certificates: Produce EPCs in line with statutory requirements and organisational objectives
Property Data Collection: Gather and provide accurate data to support investment programmes and energy efficiency strategies
Customer and Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the organisation positively, maintaining high standards of customer care and communication
Compliance and Safety: Support equality, diversity, health and safety, and relevant property management requirements in day-to-day work
Working Relationships: Build effective relationships with internal teams, customers and external contacts to support shared objectives
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
Degree-level education or equivalent, a relevant professional qualification, or the ability to demonstrate relevant experience in building, asset management or a related discipline
Strong technical knowledge of building systems, construction types, materials and maintenance challenges
In-depth understanding of Decent Homes legislation and HHSRS
Significant experience of property surveying techniques and methodologies
Working knowledge of housing law, leaseholder consultation, building safety legislation and property management legislation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal skills
Highly organised, methodical and detail-focused, with the ability to meet targets and deadlines
Knowledge of housing and asset management systems, mobile devices and Microsoft Office
Ability to adopt a continuous improvement approach and adapt to change
Full UK driving licence and access to a car
DESIRABLE
Membership of MCIOB, RICS or an equivalent professional body
Qualification as a Domestic Energy Assessor or willingness to train
