- Support and deputise for the Distribution Manager
- Ensure the smooth running of the transport operation
- Lead, develop and manage a team of shift managers, team leaders and clerks
- Ensure full compliance with transport legislation, operator licence requirements, Health & Safety and food safety (NSF/BRC) standards
- Work closely with planning, compliance and warehouse teams to optimise fleet and driver utilisation
- Drive continuous improvement, proactively managing absence, performance, driver debriefs, and resolving driver and customer queries
Requirements
- Previous experience within a 3PL transport environment
- Proven experience leading teams in a fast-paced operation
- Strong understanding of transport compliance, including WTD, digital tachographs, and operator licence requirements
- Highly organised, proactive and resilient
- Experience developing people with a structured and detail-focused approach
- International CPC qualification desirable as there may be a requirement to be on the O License in the future
