Gardening Assistant Manager Location: Hayes, London Salary: £17.00 per hour Job Type: Permanent | Full-Time The Opportunity We are recruiting for an experienced Gardening Assistant Manager to join a well-established grounds maintenance business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong horticultural background who is looking to take the next step into a supervisory role. Working alongside the Operations Manager, you'll help oversee the day-to-day running of the Gardening Department, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. This role combines office-based planning with regular site visits and team management. Key Responsibilities Support the Operations Manager with the day-to-day running of the Gardening Department. Assist with scheduling work and allocating daily workloads. Supervise and support gardening teams across multiple sites. Carry out regular site inspections to ensure quality standards are maintained. Produce quotations for grounds maintenance, one-off works and tree services. Deal with customer enquiries and maintain strong client relationships. Monitor staff performance and provide guidance and support. Ensure Health & Safety procedures are followed at all times. Cover the Operations Manager during periods of absence. Identify opportunities to grow existing client accounts. What We're Looking For Minimum of 5 years' experience in grounds maintenance or landscaping. Strong knowledge of plants, trees and horticultural practices. Experience using a wide range of gardening machinery. Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is desirable. Full UK Driving Licence (essential). Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and email. Excellent organisational and communication skills. Proactive, reliable and customer-focused approach
