Assistant Headteacher – Inclusion and Achievement

Newbury Park Primary School is seeking an inspirational and committed Assistant Headteacher to join our Senior Leadership Team and lead our strategic approach to inclusion and achievement.

Working alongside the Headteacher, Deputy Headteachers and wider leadership team, you will play a key role in ensuring that inclusion is embedded across all aspects of school life and that barriers to learning are identified and removed.

About the role
As Assistant Headteacher – Inclusion and Achievement, you will provide strategic leadership for inclusion across Nursery to Year 6.
You will work closely with our SENDCo, who you will line manage, ensuring that SEND provision is ambitious, effective and focused on improving outcomes for pupils.
The successful candidate will initially take responsibility for:
Strategic leadership of inclusion across the school
SEND provision and outcomes
Line management and development of the SENDCo
EAL provision and language development
Supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged pupils
Improving outcomes for pupils with additional needs
Developing adaptive teaching approaches
Ensuring effective intervention and support strategies
Promoting inclusive classroom practice
You will work collaboratively with the Deputy Headteacher for Quality of Education and Standards to ensure that high-quality teaching meets the needs of all learners.
You will also work closely with the Deputy Headteacher responsible for Behaviour, Culture, Safeguarding and Attendance to ensure pastoral, safeguarding and inclusion systems work together effectively.
As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will contribute to whole-school improvement, support staff development and help shape the continued development of Newbury Park Primary School.
Specific leadership responsibilities may evolve over time in response to the needs and priorities of the school.

Has successful leadership experience within a primary school setting.
Has a strong understanding of inclusion, SEND and removing barriers to learning.
Understands how excellent teaching and adaptive practice enable all pupils to succeed.
Has experience of improving outcomes for pupils with additional needs and vulnerable groups.
Can support and develop colleagues through coaching and professional dialogue.
Can analyse information, identify priorities and evaluate impact.
Builds positive relationships with pupils, families, staff and external professionals.
Shares our ambition that every child should feel valued, included and successful.
