Are you an experienced leader looking to make a real difference in your community?

A leading organisation is seeking a passionate and proactive Operations Manager to drive high-quality, efficient service delivery across Birmingham.


We’re looking for someone with proven experience managing large teams — whether that’s in Transport, Airports, Facilities Management, the Military, or another service-led environment. If you’re motivated by performance, safety, and continuous improvement, this could be the role for you.


The Role

You will lead and develop teams delivering essential front-line services — ensuring safety, efficiency, and excellent customer satisfaction. This is a hands-on, people-focused role that requires strong leadership, operational oversight, and a passion for positive change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage large teams, driving high performance and engagement.
  • Oversee resource allocation, safety compliance, and budget control.
  • Conduct safety inspections and ensure adherence to all regulations.
  • Analyse operational data to identify and implement service improvements.
  • Champion innovation, sustainability, and a “right-first-time” approach.
  • Deputise for senior management and represent the service with key stakeholders.


About You

We’re open on your background — whether that’s public sector, private industry, or the armed forces — but you’ll need to show strong operational and leadership experience.


Essential Requirements:

  • Proven ability to lead and motivate large teams 20-30 people
  • Strong safety management and compliance experience.

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within the region.
