Assistant Production Manager (Nightshift) Location: Snodland, Kent Job Type: Full time, Permanent Salary - Up to £45,000 plus shift allowance Shift Pattern: 4 days on, 4 days off (6pm - 6am) Alexander Steele is partnering with a leading Manufacturing business based in Kent, who are looking to hire an Assistant Production Manager. You’ll be responsible for leading and developing a team on shift to meet production, quality, and safety targets while driving continuous improvement on the line. Responsibilities * Oversee daily production activities to meet planned targets. * Allocate manpower and resources efficiently across production lines. * Minimize downtime through proactive coordination with maintenance and quality teams. * Drive initiatives for productivity improvement, waste reduction, and resource optimization. * Ensure accurate recording of production data, material usage, and finished goods in ERP systems. * Monitor key performance indicators (output, efficiency, waste, downtime) and provide timely reports. * Validate system transactions to maintain data integrity for inventory and traceability. * Manage material returns and reconciliation at shift end. * Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to maintain inventory accuracy and reduce variances. * Enforce compliance with health, safety, and quality standards (e.g., GMP, HACCP). * Conduct regular safety checks and implement corrective actions promptly. * Maintain accurate and audit-ready records for production, safety, and quality compliance. * Ensure SOPs, checklists, and logs are updated and properly stored. * Lead and motivate the production team to achieve operational goals. Skills and Experience * 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or FMCG, including supervisory or managerial roles. * Strong understanding of ERP systems and production reporting. * Proven leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. * Knowledge of health and safety, quality standards, and compliance requirements. * Experience with warehouse management systems
