We are working with an established refurbishment contractor with over 20 years’ experience delivering works across London and the surrounding areas.

With a turnover of approximately £20m, the business has built an excellent reputation for delivering social housing refurbishment, planned maintenance and void works for local authorities and housing associations.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based from their Chingford office, supporting a portfolio of void property refurbishment works.

The Role

Working alongside an experienced Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager, you will assist with the commercial management of void refurbishment projects from initial costing through to final account.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with subcontractor procurement and tender enquiries
  • Preparing and issuing subcontract packages
  • Reviewing subcontractor quotations and carrying out comparisons
  • Assisting with valuations, applications and payments
  • Measuring and pricing refurbishment works
  • Managing variations and additional works
  • Supporting monthly cost reporting and CVRs
  • Monitoring project costs against budgets
  • Liaising closely with operational teams, subcontractors and clients
  • Assisting with final accounts and project close-out

About You

We are looking for someone with previous commercial experience within construction, refurbishment or social housing who is keen to continue developing their career as a Quantity Surveyor.

Experience working on voids, planned maintenance, internal refurbishment, kitchens & bathrooms or general social housing refurbishment would be particularly beneficial.

You may currently be working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or be a commercially minded Trainee Quantity Surveyor ready to take the next step.

The Company

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established, financially stable contractor that has been operating for more than 20 years where individuals are given genuine responsibility and exposure to projects rather than being restricted to one small part of the commercial process. xwzovoh

For an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor, there is excellent scope to develop into a fully-fledged Quantity Surveyor as the business continues to grow.
