Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Data Centre Scheme Location: Dunstable Sector: Data Centres Employment: Permanent or Freelance Contractor: Main Contractor We’re recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor delivering a major data centre project in Dunstable. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Assistant QS to develop their career on one of the UK’s fastest-growing construction sectors, working alongside an experienced commercial team on a flagship project. The Role Supporting the Senior Quantity Surveyor and wider commercial team, you’ll gain exposure to all aspects of project commercial management while taking ownership of key responsibilities. Your duties will include: Assisting with subcontract procurement and package management Preparing valuations, payment applications and cost reports Managing subcontractor accounts and payment assessments Supporting the management of variations and change control Monitoring project costs against budget Maintaining accurate commercial records and documentation Assisting with monthly financial reporting and forecasting Liaising with site teams, subcontractors and suppliers Supporting the preparation of final accounts About You We’re looking for someone who is eager to progress their career within a main contracting environment. Ideally, you’ll have: Experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor within construction Main contractor experience preferred A Quantity Surveying degree or working towards one Strong numerical and analytical skills Excellent communication and organisational abilities A proactive attitude and willingness to learn Knowledge of NEC or JCT contracts is beneficial but not essential What’s on Offer?
