Key Responsibilities of the

Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Package Procurement:

Collaborate directly with site teams to procure subcontract packages and pull together comprehensive tender documents.

Commercial Analysis:

Reconcile and analyse incoming subcontractor quotations to ensure accurate financial and commercial comparisons.

Risk Management:

Identify potential project risks and commercial opportunities during the crucial tender analysis stage.

Contract Administration:

Prepare final subcontract documents, commercial agreements, and handle the remeasurement of subcontractor accounts.

Financial Reporting:

Draft accurate, timely payment notices and gain valuable client-facing exposure by assisting with monthly external valuations.

What You Need to Succeed

Industry Foundations:

Prior hands-on experience in a junior, trainee, or

Assistant Quantity Surveyor

role within the construction sector.

Core Knowledge:

A basic understanding of procuring subcontract packages and measuring drawings or works on-site.

Tech & Numbers:

Strong numerical skills (especially in Microsoft Excel) to accurately analyse financial data, quotes, and spreadsheets.

Communication:

Confident communication skills to liaise effectively with site managers, subcontractors, and clients.
