Assistant Store Manager Hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 8:45am - 5:15pm (42.5 hours per week) Location: Alresford, Hampshire Salary: Up to £35,000 DOE Benefits include... 30% discount in-store Paid lunch breaks Free on-site parking 28 days annual leave We're recruiting for an enthusiastic and hands-on Assistant Store Manager to join a thriving independent retail destination. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a beautiful retail environment where customer experience is at the heart of everything you do. Working closely with the Store Manager, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day operation of a large retail space, leading by example, supporting the team and ensuring every customer receives outstanding service. You'll be responsible for: Supporting the Store Manager with the smooth day-to-day running of the store. Leading, motivating and developing the retail team. Delivering exceptional customer service and confidently resolving customer queries. Opening and closing the store, including cash handling and till procedures. Maintaining high visual merchandising and presentation standards. Supporting stock replenishment and ensuring products are accurately displayed and priced. Assisting with staff training, rotas and operational planning. Ensuring health & safety standards are maintained across the store. We're looking for someone who: Has at least 2-3 years' experience in a retail supervisor or Assistant Manager role. Loves delivering outstanding customer service. Is confident leading a team and supporting colleagues. Has excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Enjoys being on the shop floor and leading by example. Is physically fit and happy to spend the day on their feet in a large retail environment, with regular trips to the downstairs stockroom. Thrives in a busy environment and can confidently deal with a wide range of customers, always remaining professional and courteous.
