Associate/Associate Director - Sustainability ConsultancyLocationEdinburgh preferred, although applications from candidates based in Glasgow, Leeds, Warrington, or Birmingham will also be considered.The OpportunityAn established multidisciplinary consultancy is looking to appoint an Associate / Associate Director to join its growing Sustainability team.This is a senior leadership role focused on delivering sustainability and Net Zero Carbon strategies across a varied portfolio of built environment projects. The successful candidate will help lead project delivery, support team management, develop client relationships, and contribute to the continued growth of the sustainability offering.There is a particular interest in individuals with experience leading embodied carbon strategies and wider decarbonisation initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesLead sustainability projects across a range of sectors and developmentsManage client relationships and coordinate multidisciplinary design teamsSupport delivery of Net Zero Carbon and embodied carbon strategiesAssist with team leadership, resource planning, and project forecastingContribute to business development activities and client growthLead presentations, technical meetings, and stakeholder engagementSupport fee proposals, bids, and interviewsMentor and develop junior team membersDeliver sustainability modelling and analysis including energy, overheating, daylight, and building performance modellingDevelop sustainability and energy strategies for projects at concept and delivery stagesContribute to industry thought leadership and technical publicationsRequirementsSignificant experience within sustainability consultancy / built environment sustainabilityStrong understanding of Net Zero Carbon, embodied carbon, and sustainability strategyExperience managing multiple concurrent projectsConfident engaging with clients, developers, investors, and design teamsLeadership or team management experience preferredExperience with IES VE and building performance modellingKnowledge of LCA/WLCA, BREEAM, WELL, LEED, Circular Economy, and planning policy requirementsChartered status or equivalent preferredWhat They’re Looking ForStrong technical and commercial awarenessExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to lead projects and mentor teams effectivelyProactive and collaborative approachFocus on quality and continuous improvementSalary:Up to 80k DOELocation:Edinburgh Type:permanentSUBMIT CV
