Baler Operative Recycling Facility Location: Northampton Pay Rate: £13.00 per hour Hours: 7:00am 7:00pm | 5 out of 7 days (rota basis) Job Type: Full-Time | Temp to Perm Baler Operative Long-Term Opportunity Quest Employment is currently recruiting for a Baler Operative to join a busy recycling and waste management site based in Northampton. This is a great opportunity to join an established and growing company within the recycling sector, offering ongoing full-time work and the potential to secure a permanent role. This position would suit someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work in a fast-paced environment. The Role As a Baler Operative, you will be responsible for supporting the recycling process by operating machinery and ensuring materials are processed safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Operating the baling machine in a safe and efficient manner. Loading and processing recyclable materials such as cardboard and plastic. Monitoring machinery performance and reporting faults or maintenance issues. Securing, labelling, and preparing bales for storage or dispatch. Carrying out manual handling tasks in line with safe working practices. Keeping the work area clean, organised, and hazard-free. Following all health and safety procedures and site policies. Assisting other areas of the site, including warehouse and yard operations, when required. What Were Looking For Previous experience in recycling, waste, warehouse, production, or industrial environments (preferred but not essential). Good level of physical fitness due to the manual nature of the role. Reliable, hard-working, and proactive attitude. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Good understanding of health and safety practices. Flexibility to work a rotating 5 out of 7-day shift pattern. What We Offer £13.00 per hour. Ongoing, full-time work. Temp to perm opportunity.
