Job summary

The Imaging Department at UHB NHS Trust Birmingham have vacancies for Band 5 Radiographers to join their busy, friendly team at Solihull hospital.

We are looking to recruit qualified, HCPC registered radiographers with U.K/NHS experience, who may be looking for their first post qualification post or a new opportunity in their career. These posts will give you the opportunity to build on and consolidate your clinical experience in all areas of General Imaging including Minor Injuries/Urgent Care Centre, GP and Inpatient X-Ray and theatres. You may also have the opportunity to become competent in bone densitometry scanning as part of your rotation. We support several student radiographers and actively supporting CPD/training opportunities means your Band 5 role at UHB has the potential to lead to a variety of interesting and fulfilling career options.

Main duties of the job

To undertake professional, high quality and responsive imaging service to patients, in a safe clinical environment.

You will be required to work flexibly- weekday/weekend and out of hour's duties. We operate a 7-day working week which includes rostered nights, weekends and Bank Holidays.

The post holder will undertake radiographic examinations, seeking guidance where necessary, within Imaging and work as part of a team providing a caring and effective service.

They will assess their own workload and capability of patients to cooperate for radiographic examination. They will communicate effectively with colleagues and patients and have a patient centred approach to ensure that patients' needs are met.

They will take responsibility for their own practice, in correlation with protocols and maintain accurate records. During the course of their work they must ensure they work in line with IRR2017 and IRMER2017.

They will act in accordance with the Radiographers' professional code of conduct at all times and maintain their professional knowledge through CPD, striving to improve standards of service and quality of work.

They will participate in the training and supervision of student radiographers and Assistant Practitioners.

They will use equipment safely and competently, ensuring that faults are reported in a timely manner. They will undertake daily checks and participate in the QA programme.
