Job summary

Band 6 Bereavement Midwife

Accountable for the overall provision of high midwifery standards of bereavement care and run a high risk Rainbow Clinic.

Part time 26 Hrs

HHFT Multi-site working

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide total midwifery care for both high and low risk mothers within all midwifery environments.Offer specialist support to families experiencing miscarriage, termination of pregnancy, neonatal death and still birth when required and in the absence of the senior bereavement midwife. The post holder will be accountable for the overall provision of high midwifery standards of bereavement care and provide evidenced based woman centred bereavement midwifery care, which can be delivered in a variety of models. The post holder will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, other agencies and user representatives.

  • oDemonstrates competence in dealing with obstetric emergencies in hospital and community setting
  • oCapable of undertaking shift leadership and management responsibility within a defined area of the service
  • oAble to demonstrate the mentoring of students and induction of new staff

  • oHas participated in research and audit
