This is a senior-level position within an established private pathology service, offering responsibility for the day-to-day delivery, quality and compliance of an acute Blood Transfusion service.

The Role
This would suit an experienced Blood Transfusion BMS who is confident taking responsibility for a busy service and maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety and compliance.
Key responsibilities will include:
*
Analysis, interpretation and technical validation of diagnostic results
*
Troubleshooting complex technical issues
*
Supporting the validation and introduction of new techniques and equipment
*
Maintaining an accredited Blood Transfusion service
*
Ensuring compliance with MHRA, UKAS, CQC, GMP and BSQR requirements
*
Quality assurance and maintenance of internal quality management systems
*
Training and development of laboratory staff
*
Assessing staff competency across Blood Transfusion procedures
*
Supporting service continuity, including bench work where required
*
Participation in an out-of-hours/on-call rota may be required, with additional payments
What we're looking for
You must have:
*
HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist
*
Extensive hands-on Blood Transfusion experience
*
Experience within an acute/complex laboratory environment
*
Strong knowledge of MHRA, UKAS and Blood Transfusion quality requirements
*
MSc in Biomedical Science or an appropriate discipline, or equivalent qualification such as IBMS HSD
*
Participation in a relevant CPD scheme
*
Strong leadership, communication and staff-training skills
