Job summary

The Band 7 Gynaecological Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) at Barnet and Chase Farm Hospital, provides expert nursing care and support for women undergoing investigation, treatment and follow-up for gynaecological cancers. Working as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team, the post holder will coordinate complex patient pathways, act as a key worker and advocate for patients and their families, and provide specialist information, education and psychological support throughout the cancer journey. The CNS will also contribute to service development, education, audit, research and quality improvement initiatives, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and compassionate patient-centred care.

Main duties of the job

The Band 7 Gynaecological Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) will provide specialist nursing care and support to women with suspected or confirmed gynaecological cancer, ensuring a seamless and co-ordinated patient journey from diagnosis through treatment and follow-up. The post holder will act as a key worker and patient advocate, delivering expert clinical advice, holistic needs assessment, symptom management, and psychological support. Working closely with the multidisciplinary team, they will contribute to service development, education, audit, research and quality improvement activities, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe and patient-centred cancer care.

  • Undergraduate degree or recognised experience
