Job summary
This is a pivotal leadership post within our Acute Dialysis service, directly contributing to safe, high-quality patient care, clinical governance, and the professional growth of our team. You will provide visible day-to-day leadership for nursing staff, oversee the delivery of specialist renal care, manage unit resources effectively, and work collaboratively across disciplines to drive improvements in patient outcomes and service efficiency. We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse who acts as a positive role model for our team of nurses and nursing assistants. You must be confident, committed to hands-on clinical practice, and able to demonstrate evidence of continuing professional and personal development. Excellent communication and people-management skills, alongside a clear dedication to maintaining high standards of care, are essential.Main duties of the job
Clinical Leadership & Practice: Deliver and oversee safe, evidence-based acute dialysis care; act as an expert practitioner, ensuring compliance with NMC standards, renal guidelines, infection control, and emergency protocols.
Team Leadership & Role Modelling: Lead, motivate, and support nurses and nursing assistants; foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, wellbeing, and continuous improvement.
Professional Development: Provide mentorship, clinical supervision, and learning opportunities; actively pursue your own CPD and encourage the same across the team.
Operational & Resource Management: Manage staffing, rotas, equipment, and budgets to ensure smooth, cost-effective, safe service delivery.
Collaboration & Quality: Work closely with nephrologists and multidisciplinary teams; lead audit, clinical governance, and quality improvement to enhance patient experience and outcomes.
