- LOOKING FOR THE RIGHT PERSON WITH THE CORRECT EXPERIENCE ABOUT US Protek Fire Doors are a rapidly growing manufacturer of bespoke timber fire doorsets, supplying high-quality FD30 and FD60 commercial doorsets across the UK.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Bench Joiner with previous fire doorset manufacturing experience to join our production team at our Heywood facility.
THE ROLE As a Bench Joiner, you will play an integral role in the manufacture of certified timber fire doorsets.
Working from technical drawings and specifications, you will produce high-quality fire doorsets to exacting standards, ensuring compliance, consistency and excellent craftsmanship throughout the manufacturing process.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Manufacture and assemble timber fire doorsets to specification.
Machine, lip, glaze and prepare door leaves.
Fit fire-rated ironmongery, seals and associated components.
Operate workshop machinery safely and efficiently.
Carry out quality inspections throughout the manufacturing process.
Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
Work collaboratively within a busy production team to meet production targets.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE Minimum of 3 years' experience within a bench joinery manufacturing environment.
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Bench Joinery, or a completed apprenticeship (preferred).
Previous experience manufacturing timber fire doorsets is essential.
Experience glazing fire doors and fitting fire-rated ironmongery.
Excellent attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
Experience operating CNC machinery (HOMAG preferred).
Edgebander experience Presser experience Power tools and hand tools DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE Knowledge of fire door tolerances, test evidence and Field of Application (FoA) documents.
FLT Licence. xwzovoh
Fire door awareness, BM TRADA, FIRAS or equivalent training.
WORKING HOURS Monday to Friday 08:00 17:00 40 hours per week Overtime available
