Bid Writing Manager

About the role Join VolkerHighways as a Bid Manager at our Hoddesdon head office and lead the successful delivery of high-profile highways and street lighting bids. You'll manage the full bid lifecycle from strategy and win themes to high-quality, compliant submissions, working closely with operational, commercial and specialist teams. Run kick-offs and progress meetings, coordinate review stages, and ensure actions are completed to quality standards. Oversee clarification processes, ensuring aligned, approved and risk-managed responses. Align bid narrative with commercial strategy, pricing, risks and contract requirements. Maintain the Risk & Opportunity Register and embed mitigation measures into submissions. Lead handovers to delivery teams, ensuring complete transfer of commitments, risks, assumptions and key information. Capture lessons learned and continuously improve bid processes, tools and content. About you Strong bid or project management experience, including planning, governance and review processes Proven leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and deliver to tight deadlines Proficient in Microsoft 365 and bid management systems (e.g. SharePoint, Asite portals, CRM tools) Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across all levels Advanced writing ability with strong focus on reviewing and shaping high-quality responses High attention to detail with a strong sense of ownership, accountability and commitment to compliance If your past experience doesn't match perfectly with every requirement of the job description, we still encourage you to apply.
