Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Acute Paediatric Department. Are you an organised and focused individual looking for a rewarding opportunity, then we have the perfect role for you? We are seeking a dedicated Booking Clerk Coordinator to join our team in managing bookings.

The candidate should have knowledge of services provided by the Children's Services and clear understanding of waiting list principles. The successful candidate should be organised, self motivated and able to work well as a member of a busy team.

The vacancy is for 15 hours per week on a Thursday and Friday.

The ability to speak Welsh at Level 3 is an essential requirement for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

To provide an accurate and prompt administrative function to facilitate the delivery of an efficient and effective appointment booking service.

To be part of a cohesive and integrated admin function to the service. Provide 'first point of access' administration for all referrals and appointments into the Paediatric Booking Centre. Act of first point of contact for all enquiries and referrals into the service.

Person Specification Essential Criteria

GCSE Maths Grade A-C or equivalent

GCSE English Grade A-C or equivalent

IT skills in relation to Microsoft Packages including word and excel

Awareness of local/national waiting list management policy and knowledge of waiting times.

Knowledge of WPAS or other patient administration systems

Experience

Experience of working in an acute Hospital/GP Practice

Experience dealing with the general Public
