Job summary

Are you an enthusiastic and experienced nurse ready for a new challenge?

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic and supportive Breast Care Team as a Breast Nurse Practitioner.

In this pivotal role, you'll provide expert care and support to patients across our Doncaster and Bassetlaw sites, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, compassionate care.

Main duties of the job

In this role, you will work closely with our breast consultants in two-week wait (2WW) clinics. You will also lead independent nurse-led clinics, including wound assessments, ensuring high standards of care throughout the patient journey.

Additionally, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of clinics in the absence of the Band 7, demonstrating leadership and organisational skills within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications & Training

Essential

  • First level Registered Nurse - current NMC Registration
  • Up to date knowledge of professional issues
  • Evidence of mandatory training updates
  • IT literate

Desirable

  • Degree or study related to speciality /role at level 6
  • Demonstrate professional development post registration
  • Non-medical prescribing
  • Teaching Qualification

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • Relevant post registration experience at Band 5 or above
  • Specialist interest and Knowledge in Breast
  • Experience of multi professional working
  • Experience of teaching
  • Highly specialist knowledge underpinned by theory and experience

Desirable

  • Clinical expertise in the specific role
  • Experience running and managing nurse led clinics independently
  • Research and development activity
