Building Control Interim Lead
to take operational responsibility for the delivery and leadership of a Building Control service across North Northamptonshire. This is a senior interim appointment with responsibility for
Building Control Surveying, Technical and Business Support , ensuring the service meets statutory requirements and Building Safety Regulator standards. ## Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the Building Control service. Provide professional advice on all aspects of
Building Control and Building Safety . Ensure compliance with statutory Building Control and Building Safety requirements. Lead implementation of the
Building Safety Levy . Maintain quality assurance standards in line with
BSR requirements . Lead, motivate and develop Building Control teams. Drive service transformation and continuous improvement. Manage performance, budgets, forecasting and financial targets. Develop strategies to increase market share and income. Manage relationships with senior stakeholders, partners, consultants and contractors. Support wider corporate strategies and priorities. ## Essential Requirements Applicants should have: A relevant professional
degree, diploma or equivalent
in Building Control, Building Surveying, Building Studies, Civil/Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
Registered Building Inspector status with the Building Safety Regulator at an appropriate level.
Extensive senior-level experience managing
Building Control and/or Building Surveying services . Strong knowledge and understanding of
Local Government/Public Sector
environments. Strong leadership, performance and financial management skills. Experience leading service improvement and organisational change. Strong contract and project management experience. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Membership of a relevant professional body such as
RICS, CIOB, CABE, ICE or IStructE , and/or a relevant management qualification, is also sought. ## Working Arrangements The role is based at
Thrapston . Hybrid working is available, but candidates must be able to attend the office and undertake visits across North Northamptonshire for a
minimum of three days per week . A
driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential . Interviews will be conducted via Microsoft Teams.
