Quantity Surveyor Please note that you can be based at any of the above offices, however travel to the main Redcar site will be as and when required) Contract length: Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday 3 days onsite - 2 days remote Balfour Beatty, an International Infrastructure group is currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join the team, ideally to start immediately. However, travel to Redcar will be as and when required. 3 days onsite and 2 days remote per week. Balfour Beatty have created iconic buildings and infrastructure all over the world over the past 115 years redefining excellence and setting the industry benchmark with every project. Balfour Beatty have been selected to construct a first-of-a-kind fully integrated gas-fired power station with carbon capture and storage which is a key driving force behind plans to make Teesside the UK's first decarbonised industrial cluster. Balfour Beatty is seeking a dynamic Quantity Surveyor to contribute to the Net Zero Teesside (NZT) project based at our site in Redcar and Cleveland. Financial: Organisational: Direct reports could include Apprentice QS, Trainee QS, Graduate or Assistant QSs Interfaces ? Internal: Commercial and wider Project Team ? Requests information and systematically checks data ? Prepares Activity Schedules, Resource Schedules & analyses tender documents ? Prepares Internal reports, commercial progress and financial reconciliation and report to senior project staff Understanding of the Customer Contract and undertakes customer and stakeholder management ? Analyses rates & prices, agreement of variations and or compensation events as required ? Prepares, submits and negotiates claims when required ? Manages commercial aspects with Customer and Stakeholders for their area of responsibility Undertakes constructability analyses using construction programmes ? Prepares procurement programme and helps develop the strategy Supports the recruitment, supervision and development of team members Experienced QS who has a track record in managing all costs and income within their area of responsibility. They seek to minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality. Experience of managing a small team of commercial staff as well as mentoring others on their journey to becoming professionally qualified is desirable. They will maintain their Continuing Professional Development (CPD). BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent o Membership of RICS, ICES or CIOB (or working towards) o CSCS Card (Professional Qualified Person) If you have the above skills and experience, and can start a position immediately please apply within - I look forward to receiving your application.
