Conrad Consulting are delighted to be working with an established multidisciplinary property and construction consultancy who are looking to appoint a Building Surveyor to join their growing Building Surveying team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Building Surveyor with 1–2 years' post-qualification experience, or equivalent experience within the profession, to develop their career across a varied portfolio of clients and projects.
The role offers excellent exposure to both professional and project-based building surveying, with particular opportunities across the housing, transport and education sectors.
The Role
As a Building Surveyor, you will be involved in a broad range of work, including:
Undertaking condition, dilapidation and DDA/accessibility surveys
Acting as Contract Administrator on building surveying commissions
Preparing specifications, schedules and drawings
Providing technical advice and design solutions
Producing professional reports for clients
Advising on building pathology and remedial solutions
Supporting Party Wall, dilapidations and other specialist surveying work
Managing and monitoring project financial performance
Liaising with clients, contractors, consultants and other stakeholders
Supporting the management of client workloads and framework agreements
Identifying opportunities to develop existing client relationships and generate new work
Supporting junior members of the team with technical queries
What We're Looking For
The successful candidate will ideally have:
A BSc in Building Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline
Around 1–2 years' PQE or equivalent relevant building surveying experience
Experience across professional building surveying services
Knowledge of building pathology and technical surveying
Experience with contract administration and specification writing
Strong communication and report-writing skills
The confidence to deal with clients and challenging situations
A collaborative approach and willingness to support colleagues
Ambition to progress towards MRICS / Chartered Building Surveyor status
