Business Support Administrator - Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service - Lisburn

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service in Lisburn as a Business Support Administrator. In this role, you will provide a modern, efficient and customer-focused administrative service, supporting the Corporate, Governance & Improvement team and contributing to the effective delivery of organisational objectives.

About the role:

  • £15.38 per hour
  • Monday to Friday
  • ​36.25 hours per week
  • ​Up to 6 months duration, with possible extension

What you'll be doing in this role:

  • Formatting (in conjunction with Corporate colours and Brand kit
  • Collaboration (being a valued embedded member of the Ops Guidance team, working with the PODs and Guidance Production)
  • Power Point Presentation Skills (which can be developed further within the role)
  • Monitoring the Operational Guidance Inbox (Directly co-ordinating feedback/Board Reports/Dashboard Updates/Delivery Board)
  • Assisting with diaries
  • Organising routine meetings/check-ins
  • Minute taking in Meetings
  • GAP Analysis training
  • Assisting with the maintenance and updating of information system

What you'll need for this role:

  • Possess at least 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, or equivalent, to include English and Maths 
  • Have at least 2 years’ experience of working in a demanding office environment, carrying out a range of business support tasks including scheduling and administrative support for meetings.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft applications, to include, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Effective planning, organisation, prioritising skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • Effective Communication skills (both written and oral):
  • An ability to produce timely and accurate information
  • A customer service orientation
