Pennine Recruitment (acting as an employment agency) are delighted to be recruiting for a Buyer/Production Planner to work with our manufacturing client based in Warrington on a full time, permanent basis. Our client is one of the UKs leading names in their sector. Within this role no two days will be the same as you will have to wear multiple hats as you will be responsible for purchasing materials for the manufacturing team as well as planning production schedules. Key Responsibilities Planning * Create and maintain production and material plans based on sales forecasts, customer demand, and capacity. * Monitor outputs and adjust plans to meet changing demand and priorities. * Work closely with production, engineering, and sales to align plans and resolve shortages. * Maintain accurate planning data including lead times, minimum order quantities, and safety stock levels. Buying & Procurement * Purchase materials in line with production requirements. * Help supplier relationships, including pricing, lead times, and delivery performance. * Expedite orders and resolve supply issues to minimise production disruption. * Identify cost-saving opportunities and support supplier negotiations. * Source alternative suppliers or components where necessary to reduce risk. Working Hours * 39 hours across Monday-Thursday (4-day working week!!) between 6.30am-4.30pm or * 39 hours across Monday-Friday between 6.30am-4.30pm Skills & Experience * Experience in either a Procurement/Buyer role or a Production Planner role within manufacturing. * Experience using MRP/ERP systems. * Strong organisational and problem-solving skills. * Ability to work in a dynamic environment and manage changing priorities. * Good communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally. Personal Attributes * A “doer” who has great attention to detail. * A great communicator * Works well across teams. * Must be able to work to and hit deadlines. * Happy to work in an office environment and on a manufacturing floor * Manage their own time effectively in order to hit deadlines.
