The Role We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Calibration Technician to join a dedicated Calibration Laboratory team. This role focuses on ensuring the highest standards of precision and accuracy within the Electrical calibration discipline, with pressure calibration expertise being a strong added advantage. You will be responsible for performing customer calibrations in a timely, efficient, and safe manner while maintaining full compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 / UKAS standards. This is a key position within the lab, requiring a technician who understands quality procedures and documentation requirements while maintaining high operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Technical & Quality Precision Calibration: Perform calibrations on electrical measuring equipment (and pressure instrumentation where applicable) in accordance with internal procedures. Documentation & Systems: Input calibration data onto the company’s calibration management system (e.g., IndySoft) and maintain accurate documentation in line with ISO 17025 requirements. Customer Communication: Ensure specific customer requirements are met and clearly communicate any issues with calibrations directly to the customer. Compliance: Assist in maintaining laboratory accreditation and support adherence to ISO 17025 supporting documentation. Operational Efficiency Workflow Management: Perform calibrations in an efficient and timely manner to support turnaround time targets. Business Support: Assist other areas of the business, such as goods receiving, as required to support overall operational workflow. Process Quality: Follow standard operating procedures to minimize errors and ensure accurate, reliable results on first pass. Team & Safety Collaboration: Work as part of a team to deliver impartial, independent calibration solutions to customers. Safety First: Perform all calibration and laboratory activities in a safe manner, adhering to health and safety protocols. Candidate Profile Qualifications & Experience Education: GCSE grades 9–5 (or equivalent) in Science, Maths, and English essential. Experience: Ideally 2+ years of experience within a UKAS-accredited laboratory focused on electrical (and ideally pressure) calibration. Software & Standards: Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 standards and experience using calibration management software (e.g., IndySoft) is desirable. Technical Competencies Ability to perform electrical calibrations according to strict laboratory procedures. Strong attention to detail with accurate data input and documentation skills. Clear communication skills to relay technical issues to clients and team members. Adaptable approach, with willingness to support broader operational tasks like goods receiving when needed
