Carpenter

Carpenter – 2–3 Week Contract – Southampton We are currently looking for an experienced Carpenter to join a construction site in Southampton on a 2–3 week contract. The successful candidate will have solid carpentry skills and be confident working with MDF, timber and a range of hand and power tools. This is a hands-on role involving boxing, general carpentry and supporting other trades on site. Duties will include: * Measuring and setting out boxing areas accurately. * Making and fitting boxing using MDF board. * Cutting MDF using a hand saw and jigsaw. * Measuring, cutting and fixing timber sections. * Pilot drilling and securely screwing sections together. * Fixing completed boxing securely into position. * Laying and removing Corex floor protection. * Removing and replacing ceiling tiles to allow plumbing and electrical works to be carried out. * Assisting plumbing and electrical trades where required. * Carrying out general carpentry and builders' work as required. * Keeping the work area clean, tidy and safe. Requirements: * Valid CSCS card – essential. * Own tools – essential. * Previous experience as a Carpenter, Multi-Trader or skilled Handyman. * Good practical carpentry and general building skills. * Ability to accurately measure, cut and fix MDF and timber. * Confident using hand and power tools. * Good attention to detail. * Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team. * Good understanding of health and safety on a construction site.
