WorkinginpartnershipwiththerelevantDepartment,actingasakeystrategicadviseroncomplexprocurementmatters,managingprocurementprojectsofhighvalue,complexityand/orrisktothecouncilandtoguideandadvisetherelevantdepartment(s)toachievethetwinobjectivesofvalueformoneyandsocialvalue.
Providingexperttechnicalinformation,advice,guidanceandchallengeonallaspectsoftheprocurementprocesstointernalcustomers
Managingrelationshipswiththirdpartypartners,andtoensurethatanypotentialriskswithinprocurementsareeffectivelymanagedtosafeguardsuccessfuldeliveryofoutcomes.

MainDuties:CategoryManager
ToworkalongsidetheCategoryLeadintheserviceareayouareallocatedtodevelopandimplementcategoryprocurementstrategiesanddevelopandimplementrobustforwardprocurementplans,includingsettingtargetswhichcontributestothedeliveryoftheMediumTermFinancialStrategyandotherkeyCouncilpolices
ToprovideexpertstrategicprocurementandcontractmanagementadvicetoseniormanagersandofficersacrosstheCouncil.
Toprovidecontractualadviceandleadend-to-endprocurementprocessesacrosstheCouncilincludingcomplexandhighvaluecontracts,andactingtheroleofCategoryManagerasakeymemberoftheprojectteam.
Toprovidequalityadviceandguidancetointernalcustomersonallaspectsoftheprocurementprocess,supportedbyexperttechnicalknowledgeincludingrelevantlegislationandbestpractice.
Toapplythetoolsandtechniquesofstrategicsourcingtoachievebusinessoutcomesthroughsoundmarketanalysis,commercialacumenandstrategyformulation,resultinginimprovedqualityofservicesand/orfinancialsavingsand,inallcases,valueformoney.
Toworkcloselywithstakeholderstoensureprocurementactivitymeetsbusinessneeds,whileprovidingobjectiveadviceandguidance,forinstanceintenderevaluationandmoderation.
Tomanagemulti-disciplinedteamstoachieveacommonoutcomeandtoprovideguidanceandsupervisiontoProcurementOfficersassignedtosupportprojects. xwzovoh
