The Position

An exciting opportunity has arisen within NHS Orkney’s People and Culture Directorate for an experienced and motivated Change Partner to join our team on a fixed-term basis for 12 months.

This newly established role has been created to support a significant programme of organisational change, workforce transformation and service redesign across NHS Orkney. Working closely with Directors, senior leaders, managers and staff side representatives, you will play a key role in helping services deliver sustainable change that improves services for patients, supports our workforce and contributes to the delivery of our strategic priorities.

As the lead People and Culture adviser for organisational change across designated services, you will provide expert consultancy, advice and support on workforce redesign, organisational development, strategic workforce planning and transformation programmes. You will work in partnership with senior leaders to assess workforce implications, identify risks and opportunities, develop practical solutions and support the successful implementation of change.

The successful candidate will lead and coordinate People and Culture input into organisational change initiatives, service redesign programmes and workforce planning activity, ensuring that change is delivered in line with NHS Scotland policy, employment legislation, partnership principles and best practice.

Location, Working Pattern and Contract Duration:

This post will be based at The Balfour we are open to discussing flexible working

  • The successful candidate will work: 36 hours per week
  • This post is a Secondment for 12 months
  • It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NHS Orkney.

  • The salary for this post is Band 7 £52,845 £61,466 and if residing on Orkney, you’ll also receive a Distant Islands Allowance of £1,719 pro rata per annum, adding extra value to your rewarding career with us.
