Are you a Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS/AssocRICS) looking to work on something a little different?

This is an opportunity to join a growing specialist consultancy focused exclusively on the historic built environment, working on some truly unique buildings and projects across the UK.

You could find yourself working on castles, cathedrals, churches, forts and listed residential properties, alongside experienced conservation professionals.

The Role

You'll enjoy a varied mix of building surveying, conservation and project work, including:

  • Carrying out detailed condition surveys of historic and listed buildings
  • Producing high-quality technical reports
  • Developing repair and conservation schemes
  • Acting as Lead Designer on restoration projects
  • Managing Listed Building Consent applications
  • Providing specialist building surveying advice
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, architects and conservation bodies
  • Managing multiple projects from survey through to delivery
  • Using modern surveying technology including AutoCAD, laser scanning and photogrammetry

What We're Looking For

  • MRICS or AssocRICS qualification
  • Building surveying experience
  • An interest in heritage, conservation or historic buildings
  • Knowledge of building pathology and construction
  • Understanding of Listed Building Consent and planning
  • Strong project management and communication skills
  • Experience with AutoCAD/CAD and modern surveying techniques
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle

Experience specifically within heritage isn't essential if you have strong building surveying fundamentals and a genuine interest in developing within this specialist area.

What's On Offer?

  • £45,000–£55,000 salary
  • Performance-related bonus
  • Hybrid and flexible working
  • Additional annual leave
  • Company pension
  • Professional development and career progression
  • Opportunity for IRATA rope access training
  • Travel expenses/support
  • The chance to work on nationally significant heritage projects

As the consultancy continues to grow, there is a genuine opportunity to progress into a senior leadership position, taking ownership of projects and eventually building and managing your own team.
