An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Children Law Accredited Solicitor with at least 3+ years’ PQE to join one of the leading Children Law practices nationally.

This is a well-established and highly regarded team with a Band 1 Chambers ranking and Legal 500 recognition, handling complex, high-profile public and private children matters. The department has an excellent reputation for the quality of its work and is involved in some genuinely challenging and rewarding cases.

This is a great opportunity for a solicitor who wants to develop the career within a specialist team where progression, training and personal development are genuinely invested in.

The Role

You will undertake a varied caseload covering:

  • Public and private children work
  • Domestic abuse matters
  • Both legally aided and privately funded cases
  • Advocacy at all levels of court
  • Providing high-quality, client-focused advice and representation
  • Supporting and developing more junior members of the team
  • Keeping up to date with developments in Children Law and related areas
  • Working within Legal Aid Agency requirements, including CCMS
  • Contributing to the continued development and profile of the department

There will also be opportunities to become involved in marketing, networking, events, articles and business development, should this be an area you enjoy.

About You

We are looking for a solicitor who can demonstrate:

  • Children Law Accreditation
  • At least 3 years’ post-qualification experience
  • Strong experience across public and/or private children work
  • Good advocacy experience
  • Experience of working within the Legal Aid framework and CCMS
  • Excellent communication and client care skills
  • Strong organisation and time management
  • The ability to work independently whilst contributing positively to a wider team
  • A genuine commitment to Children Law and continued professional development

You will ideally be someone who is enthusiastic about your work, keen to develop their practice and enjoys working collaboratively within a supportive team.
