Job post summary Date posted: August 3, 2026 Pay: £33,604.00 - £33,605.00 per year Job description: Children's Residential Support Worker Permanent Location: Colne Job Summary We are seeking caring, resilient, and dedicated Children's Residential Support Workers / Teaching Assistants to join our team in Colne. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people. The successful candidate will work closely with young people to support their daily routines, emotional wellbeing, education, and personal development while making a meaningful difference in their lives. Duties * Support children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) in a residential care setting. * Assist with daily routines, personal development, and educational activities. * Provide emotional support and promote positive behaviour and wellbeing. * Build positive and trusting relationships with young people. * Support young people to develop social, communication, and life skills. * Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing environment. * Assist with behavioural management strategies in line with organisational policies. * Ensure the safety, welfare, and wellbeing of all young people at all times. * Participate in shift work, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins. Shift Pattern 2 days on, 4 days off (Including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts) Qualifications & Requirements * Relevant experience working with children * Experience supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) is highly desirable. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work patiently, empathetically, and professionally in challenging situations. * A genuine passion for supporting children and young people to achieve positive outcomes. * Full UK driving licence is essential. * Relevant qualifications in childcare, education, or residential care are beneficial but not essential.
