Job Title: Residential Care Worker Children (Autism and ESBD) - Ebbw Vale Location: Ebbw Vale We are recruiting for a Residential Care Worker Children (Autism and ESBD) in Ebbw Vale to support children and young people with Autism (ASD) and Emotional, Social and Behavioural Difficulties (ESBD). This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced Residential Care Worker Children (Autism and ESBD) in Ebbw Vale who can be a positive role model and provide consistent, therapeutic care within a children’s residential setting. As a Residential Care Worker Children (Autism and ESBD) in Ebbw Vale, you will work as part of an integrated team to deliver high-quality Residential Childcare, promote safeguarding, and support positive outcomes, including strong inspection readiness. Salary and Hours £36,360 per annum Full-time, 24-hour shifts on a rolling 3-week rota (flexibility required, including bank holidays) Key Responsibilities * Provide day-to-day care and support to children and young people with ASD, ESBD and complex needs * Act as a key worker, building trusted relationships and promoting emotional wellbeing * Support therapeutic approaches including attachment-informed practice and PACE * Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour (physical and emotional) in line with policies and risk assessments * Complete placement plans, risk assessments, and health and safety checks * Work closely with senior staff, providing feedback and contributing to team consistency * Follow Safeguarding procedures and relevant legislation to promote safety, health and wellbeing Essential Requirements * QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) * Experience in Residential Childcare (ideally 6-18 months+) * Proven experience supporting Autism (ASD) and ESBD/EBD * Clean full UK driving licence (manual) * Good IT literacy (Outlook, email, Word, Excel) * Strong understanding of childhood development, trauma-informed care and therapeutic parenting * Willingness to complete safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS Desirable * Registration with Social Care Wales and/or DBS Update Service * Welsh speaking What’s on Offer * Support with training and ongoing professional development (including qualifications) * Consistent rota pattern to help you plan ahead * Wellbeing support programme for you and your family * Benefits including pension, discounted/free food, on-site parking, and employee discounts Vetro Recruitment acts as an employment business when supplying temporary staff and as an employment agency when introducing candidates for permanent employment with a client.
