Lead by example and help create outstanding learning environments Stamford College is seeking a proactive and motivated Cleaning Team Leader to join our Estates team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with cleaning, facilities or supervisory experience who enjoys leading a team while remaining actively involved in day-to-day operations. As a working supervisor, you'll play a key role in ensuring our College and Borderville sites are safe, welcoming and maintained to the highest standards for students, staff and visitors.
Enjoy greater flexibility outside of term time. During term time, the role works Monday to Friday from 12:00-8:30pm, ensuring our facilities are maintained to the highest standard for students and staff. During college holiday periods, there is increased flexibility around working hours to support both operational requirements and work-life balance.
About the Role As Cleaning Team Leader, you will coordinate and support a team of cleaners, ensuring cleaning schedules are delivered effectively and standards remain consistently high across our sites.
This is a hands-on role where you will lead by example, carrying out cleaning duties alongside supervisory responsibilities including planning, training, quality monitoring and staff support.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading, motivating and supporting a team of cleaners
Planning and coordinating daily and periodic cleaning schedules
Monitoring cleaning standards and carrying out quality audits
Managing stock levels and cleaning equipment
Supporting staff development, training and performance reviews
Coordinating absence cover and rota planning
Maintaining compliance with health and safety requirements
Responding to operational issues and ensuring a high-quality service at all times
About You We are looking for someone who:
Has experience working within a cleaning, facilities or operational environment
Has experience supervising or coordinating a team
Takes pride in maintaining high standards and attention to detail
Has strong organisational and communication skills
Can work independently and make informed decisions
Has a proactive, flexible and hands-on approach
Understands the importance of health and safety and compliance
Experience within an education, leisure, hospitality or facilities environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
