Job summary

Are you a passionate, experienced clinician looking to shape the future of healthcare through mentorship and education? As a Clinical Educator, you will bridge the gap between theory and practice. You will be instrumental in developing clinical competencies, providing expert supervision, and ensuring that our learners receive the best possible support as they expand their skills within our clinical environments.

Main duties of the job

  • Facilitate Excellence: Support students and healthcare staff in developing competencies aligned with professional and service requirements.
  • Assessment & Monitoring: Lead competency assessments, monitor skill gaps, and contribute to clinical audits.
  • Clinical Leadership: Act as a professional role model, delivering high standards of patient care and providing expert guidance to nursing students and staff.
  • Quality Improvement: Collaborate with clinical managers to drive service development, audit initiatives, and clinical governance.
  • Support & Mentorship: Provide constructive feedback and support to staff members, including those new to a specialty, to ensure safe and effective practice.
  • Professional Development: Maintain your own advanced clinical skills and knowledge while assisting staff in their professional growth.

  • Mentorship Qualification (or equivalent).
  • Extensive experience within a clinical environment.
  • Proven ability to teach, assess, and facilitate training.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in IT and the ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practice.Desirable Skills: * Post-registration qualifications or a formal teaching qualification.
  • Experience in leading multi-professional teams and managing organizational change.
  • Knowledge of clinical education audit and evaluation processes.
