Job summary

We have vacancies for 3 x Clinical Imaging Assistants within the Imaging Care Unit (i) Two posts working full time 37.5 hours per week and (ii) one post working half time 18.75 hours per week. The post holders will be required to work occasional weekends, currently one in four but frequency may change depending on clinical demand.

We are looking for a friendly, motivated individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to work flexibly as part of a team member or on your own initiative.

Main duties of the job

In this post you will be expected to work in various areas/locations covered by the Imaging Care Unit. This will include satellite sites at Walton and Whitworth Hospitals. Access to personal transport is therefore highly desirable.

The main duties of these posts will be assisting the Imaging clinical team with biopsies and clinical procedures, cannulating patients prior to their scans, assist and co-ordinate the transfer of in-patients to and from the wards, cover reception and any other general clinical/clerical duties. You will also work closely with the Nurses in the Interventional Radiology rooms and assist with a wide variety of interventional procedures under their guidance.

Cannulation experience is desirable for this role, but not essential as training will be given.

You must be able to work under pressure, prioritise your workload and maintain confidentiality at all times.

Job responsibilities

Previous experience of working within a healthcare environment is essential.

Please Note: These posts will cover varying day time shift patterns working from 7.30am until 8:00pm over seven days per week, therefore the shift patterns will vary week to week. A Bank Holiday rotational system is in place.

  • Educated to GCSE Grade A-C (8-4)

  • QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care
