Location: Chard Salary: £36,000 £42,000 DOE Job Type: Permanent | Full-Time Hours: Monday Thursday 8am 5pm Friday 8am 1pm The Opportunity CNC Recruitment are working with a well-established precision engineering manufacturer to recruit an experienced CMM Inspector / Quality Inspector .

We are looking for a quality-focused individual with a strong CNC manufacturing background who is confident using CMM equipment and a wide range of inspection tools to ensure components meet exact customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities Programme and operate CMM equipment, including Axiom, Azimuth, Extol and Baty systems.
Carry out first-off, in-process, final and audit inspections on precision-machined components.
Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T and customer specifications.
Produce inspection reports and First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR/AS9102).
Identify non-conformances and support root cause investigations and corrective actions.
Work closely with CNC machining, production and engineering teams to maintain quality standards.
Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001 and customer quality requirements.
Maintain calibration records and ensure inspection equipment remains fully compliant.
Support internal and external quality audits.
Contribute to continuous improvement activities across the manufacturing process.
What We're Looking For Previous experience within a CNC machining or precision engineering environment.
Proven CMM programming and operating experience (essential).
Strong understanding of precision machining processes and manufactured components.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
Experience using manual inspection equipment including micrometers, verniers, height gauges and bore gauges.
Good IT skills and experience producing quality documentation.
Excellent attention to detail with a methodical approach.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Aerospace manufacturing experience would be advantageous but is not essential.

Salary of £36,000 £42,000 , depending on experience.
